Hello, Dolly!

The talented young performers of Children’s Theatre of Winnetka (CTW) will delight North Shore audiences when Hello, Dolly! returns to Matz Hall. Regarded as one of the most enduring and beloved musical theatre classics, Hello, Dolly! also marks the final production for CTW co-founder Barbara Weldon, who retires as a director after a remarkable 43 years. Hello, Dolly! features 80 fourth-grade through eighth-grade performers in two different casts.  The story takes place in New York City at the end of the 19th century when Dolly Gallagher Levi—a matchmaker, widow and professional meddler receives her toughest challenge with a rich grump named Horace Vandergelder who seeks a suitable wife. Dolly successfully matches many others in the city, including Horace’s niece and two clerks, but everything seems to go wrong when Dolly realizes she’d like to marry Horace. MFA Lab Series: Passion Play

Sarah Ruhl’s acclaimed Passion Play takes us behind the scenes of three communities attempting to stage the popular dramatization of the death and resurrection of Christ. From Queen Elizabeth’s England to Hitler’s Germany to Reagan’s America, Ruhl takes us on a humorous yet unsettling journey filled with lust, faith, and a lot of fish. This intimate epic journeys through different historical and socials moments where the community of players grapple in different ways with the transformative nature of art, with politics never far in the background. Healthy Kids Day

Healthy Kids Day® is a free, community-wide event designed to help kids get a jump start to their summer. The goal is to raise awareness about health and encourage families to get active. Spring Flea Market and Craft Fair

Beach Dash & Splash

Gillson Beach/Lakeview Center @ Gillson Park, Wilmette

Join the Wilmette community in celebration and anticipation of beach season at the 2nd Annual Ouilmette Foundation Beach Dash & Splash. One month before the beaches officially open – join in for a 1-mile beach dash along Gillson Beach. This year, so you can be the first into the lake, they are adding a beach splash to the celebration! Donation to participate is $30 and all proceeds go to the Ouilmette Foundation for the Parks, an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to enriching parks and community life in Wilmette. Register in advance here. Limited walk-up registration will be available at the Lakeview Center beginning at 7:00 a.m. Snacks and refreshments will be provided, plus a beach towel to get you ready for the summer season. At the end of the event, gather in Gillson Park at the newly established migratory bird habitat for a tour by Go Green Wilmette.


Lake Glenview Fish Release Day

8th Annual Prelude Midwest Urban Dance Competition

Prelude Midwest is an annually held urban dance competition that strives to not expose the Chicagoland area to the most exhilarating pockets of urban dance culture, but also provide hip hop crews a space to be inspired, appreciated, and celebrated for their talent.
